PARENTS & CARERS ELIGIBLE FOR MEANS TESTED FREE SCHOOL MEALS TO RECEIVE £100

Scottish Borders Council is urging parents who meet the criteria for means tested free school meals to make sure they are registered so they can receive the Spring Support Payment benefit of £100.

The payment will not be made to all parents who automatically receive free school meals for their children in P1-3 or Early Learning and Childcare – just those who meet the required criteria for means tested meals due to low income or being on certain benefits. The above also applies to parents of children in P4-S6 whose circumstances may have changed and who believe they may now qualify for means tested free school meals.

Parents and carers can check their eligibility on the Council’s website at: www.scotborders.gov.uk/financialassistance and if they are not already registered, make an application using the available online form.
