Location: Peebles and Innerleithen
Rate of pay: £11.50 per hour.
As a TYA Youth Worker you will plan, deliver and evaluate meaningful activities and group work that respond to young people’s needs and help to support their development and growth. This is an exciting and fun role with access to a wide array of high quality, free training and support that will help to further a career within youth work.
Person specification
You will have experience of working with children and young people in a youth work setting and a thorough understanding of the policies and principles that inform youth work. You will also have:
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Ability to motivate and inspire young people
Capability to plan youth work sessions planning with a thorough understanding of desired outcomes.
A tactful and diplomatic approach to dealing with sensitive and confidential information
Enthusiasm, commitment, and stamina
A flexible approach to working
A sense of humour
A full driving license and access to a car
An up-to-date knowledge of and interest in issues that affect young people
This role is subject to PVG disclosure and will entail evening and occasional weekend work. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred and all training, including essentials such as Child Protection and C-Card will be provided.
